The Multicultural Center at The Ohio State University is dedicated to empowering students through the creation of opportunities for engagement and leadership in an environment that celebrates the rich diversity of our campus and the communities we serve.

The four principles of the Multicultural Center that guide our work are building community, valuing social justice, contributing to the academic experience, and facilitating individual transformation.

IV.  BART On-Line Submission Process Now Available!

Reports of bias incidences may now be submitted online to the Bias Assessment and Response Team (BART). Reports may be submitted by both victims and witnesses of hate or bias-related incidents, and all members of the university community are encouraged to utilize this on-line service. After submission, BART will address incidents and make support services available as necessary. For more information click on the BART link at the bottom of the screen.

V. Graduate Positions Available.

The Multicultural Center is excited to announce openings for Graduate Administrative Associate positions.  This position requires a twenty hour a week commitment for the 2008-2009 academic year.  See attached document for a complete job description.

HOW TO APPLY:  Send a resume and cover letter to Elizabeth Warren (warren.168@osu.edu) by no later than 5 PM on May 9.  Interviews for selected candidates will be on May 16. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated understanding of and experience with multiculturalism, intercultural and social justice.  Programming experience, strong administrative skills, and self-motivation. Familiarity with word processing & graphics applications (MS Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, Adobe Photoshop, etc.), some website management experience; dedication to, and knowledge of multicultural and social justice issues; willingness to learn, team spirit and have fun.  Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to working with persons of diverse cultural, ethnic, gender, spirituality, and sexual identities, as well as persons with disabilities
